Among the certifications currently being evaluated are ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 27001, CMMI, SOC 2, ISO 20000-1 and ISO 22301. These standards and frameworks cover areas including quality management, information security, software and process maturity, service management, and business continuity.
For many Bangladeshi technology companies looking to work with international clients, certifications can play an important role in demonstrating structured processes, security practices and operational reliability. However, the cost and complexity involved in obtaining internationally recognized certifications can be a barrier, particularly for smaller and growing companies.
Through the proposed partnership model, Outsource to BD says it wants to make certification more affordable while helping local technology businesses strengthen their global credibility.
The initiative is built around four objectives: reducing certification costs, strengthening global credibility, increasing international competitiveness and building greater trust with overseas buyers.
Rather than focusing on a single certification, Outsource to BD is assessing several options based on the needs of Bangladeshi technology companies. The organization is also seeking feedback from companies on which certifications have provided the most value to their businesses and which certifications they plan to pursue next.
If implemented, an aggregated-demand approach could provide participating companies with access to certification opportunities at potentially more competitive pricing while supporting broader efforts to improve the international positioning of Bangladesh's technology sector.
The initiative is currently at the partnership-evaluation stage, with Outsource to BD seeking to understand market demand before moving forward.
